Fixing Things!
Over the weekend, I was playing with the french internet provider that gives us 10 Gb location for webstorage. I moved my blog and figured out few technical details concerning phpadmin and url/homedir location. All is working fine now. How could I say no to 10 Gb webstorage. I also bought a 3 m HDMI cord for my PC, I was tired of moving the one used by the Freebox, plus a new mouse and a fancy electrical plug with 8 inputs…70 Euros!
A head hunter called me on Friday for a possible IT position. It was crucial to him that I was french because of the nature of the job. It seems that it is highly oriented towards defense and security. Who knows! I might end up doing what I am really good atand what I like most: computers. Maybe it is time to make a living with it.
Two months home! I should admit I enjoy the area around my parents’ town. It has developped from a small suburb town into a nice are near Paris with everything a quiet person like me needs…Food is also excellent and internet is very fast.

Once a Runner…
Always a Runner. I went for a run today. I wanted to get used to drive my parents’ manual car, to go out a bit and to enjoy the weather and the sun. So I went running around the lake near my town. Such a pleasure to get back on my feet. I missed it I should I admit and I shall do it regularly again. It forces me to practice more my driving skills anyways.

Little Things
The astigmatism is getting worse on my left eye, I am quite annoyed by the weird effect. I see things in two different planes. I took an apointment but every french opthamologist is on vacation during August so the first spot available is on September 07. I have to wait until then and endure the disagreement silently.
My Dell laptop’s price has increased by 150 GPB. Funny! Indeed, I bought it when the government is giving out money to help businesses. Now that the business boost is over, Dell had to increase all its prices and even decrease the specifications. So you can buy a weaker laptop for 150 GBP more! Usually I see prices decrease so I am quite happy withe the deal, especially because I love my laptop and because it works like a charm.
I upgraded my wordpress yesterday, I am glad nothing bad happened. For some reasons I cannot post pictures directly to the blog. It just hanged when I tried to do so. Maybe I shall move the blog to the french serveur. My provider is giving 10 Gb to do so. It is probably wiser to use it.

I went for a walk on Sunday afternoon to pratice driving the car and to check around the lake near where I live. It was a nice two hours walk and there weren’t many people because the weather was not too good. I took some pictures also. Very pleasant! It reminded me off my weekly hikes in Australia/Ireland and England.
My free television one month trial offer ended so I’ve lost a few channels I used to watch when it was free: Escales, Mangas and TPS Star. I will just pay for the monthly subscription in order to be able to accces them again. I have updated my CV and I’ve sent out a few. I was not too keen on the offers but I wanted to re-establish a good habit. Life is easy and quite pleasant so I’ve been lazy.

Frozen Fingers!
I can hardly close my hands in the morning. The everyday rowing session is putting a lot of stress on my little fingers. they aren’t used to that much effort. I need to strenghten them a little. It is still 14 kms per day of rowing. Looking for a job is painful but other than that life is quite nice at home: Internet, TV, games :). I had my first apointment the ANPE, the french unemployment office, not much to say about it… just paperwork. I did everything online and it disturbed my mother. She is not used to do things like that. It worked perfectly so she stopped bothering me.
My left eye is causing me troubles. The astigmatism is worsening and I see things in two different plans now. I have an apointment with the ophtamologist on September 07. That was the first available!!! Most french doctors are on vacation during August. Bastards!

Busy Weekend!
It was very hectic but lots of fun. Food and games all day long during 2 days. After about 8 years and half, my little cousines have changed a lot! I could barely recognise the last two. It was good catching up with them since I doubt we will have many of these family reunions in the future. We all have grown up and each fo us have things on our own. Such is life!
It was time to take some pictures. Few nice places have caught my eyes and I wanted to go there to take some pictures. They aren’t bad at all! I’ve lost some practice and I have messed up a lot of good shots. Time to go back to do some more photography I believe.

My cousines from Belgium will come and visit us this weekend. I have not seen them for 10 years. We all have changed so much during these years. It will be a shock to see each other again. I have seen their pictures and they all have grown up. The apartment will be very crowded this weekend. My sister is coming back to visit us too. She intends to organise a gaming session with them. I do not know where we will sleep but it will be fun. So in total 8 more people!!! I will suggest a photo ssessions near the bridge that leads to our artificial enclosed lake: "Les Etangs de Cergy"

"Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" was funny, it was not as good as the previous ones but I was happy to see it. "Terminator Salvation" was not bad either. I was entertained and I kind of liked it. Seeing Arnold Schwarzeneger’s face just few seconds, even if it was just a simulation was surprising. My broher said that "Angels and Demons" and "Watchmen" were good but I have not had time to watch them.
My mother came back yesterday with plenty of vietnamese food in her bags. She was happy to see my grandmother but the weather was not too good during her visit, alternance of rain and heat. Also the town where my grandmother lives is quite poor and she did not enjoy the area. Her main purpose was to visit my grandmother who is too old to go around so I guess it was not really "vacation" but more or less a pilgrimage. My sister has congraluted my dad for having survived these two weeks. Indeed, we did manage.
Lolita, my old dog, is having a hard time walking. I will try to give her back legs half an hour massage/stretching exercise everyday to revive the old muscles. Things will be very different without this old big dog.
My unemployed status has been updated. The french social system is by far the best ones. So I have about 400 euros per month and health care is free. It was a bit tricky to find out what to do and in which order. The best place for information remains the internet. It took about a month and 2 weeks for the paperwork to get through. Maybe because of summer time? It does not matter to me. All I did was to send an application form available on the web. Compared to my first time 5 years ago, it was less painful.
My sister, Anne, might come to visit us for few days. Her boyfriend is going to Bordeaux this week, he is doing a PhD with the CEA. All of us have been playing WoW intensively. I am getting a bit bored now. We had a nice raid session yesterday with my sister’s friends. We were 10 playing a raid. We used Skype to talk/explain the strategy while playing the game. 10 people !!! Geez! This have evolved.
