After reserving 8 days for Christmas and New year’s vacations, I still had 7 days off to put somewhere so I decided to have small 4 days/week of work in coming weeks until December. Today is a day off for me. I like having short weeks. I still do some work but in a relaxed manner at home. I am not the type of guy who would separate his work time and personnal time since I do not have a family. I do not mind at all opening my emails and answering questions.
I have a dental appointment also. I do not like much dentists but it is better to go when I do not have problems for some checking than wait for some serious pain to get an appointment.
I bought a 4G hotspot device (109 Euros) and I will use the coupon to get 80 euros back. I like these expensive gadgets. They look very fancy and it is a good deal to get them cheaper than their normal price. I do not know if I will ever need it though :).

iT WorKed!

As soon as I got home I plugged the internet box in. I struggled a bit to make it work. Happy Happy! I also ordered the free 4G Sim card to test it for 6 months and I submitted the forms to get the 4 months reimbursement. Now, I would like to buy the new Iphone 5S gold :).
I met the new neighbor again this morning, He shook hands and wished me a good day. I did the same and he told me he just got home from work. Most of my neighbors have indeed an unusual work schedule because they are all into sales (salesman/woman). Hard working people at least! There is only one woman who has 2 kids on the 3rd floor. Most of the others are couples with no kids.

Today I called my old internet provider, Orange, to cancel my subscription. The salesman thought I was talking about the 4G mobile offer so he explained to me why it was not true. The reality is that Bouygues has made so much noises about its 4G offer that everything else about Bouygues is being looked at. I know that Orange will try hard to get its “true” 4G just because of the fear of loosing more customers.

Finally, the box is in my hand after 2 days wandering in the delivery system. The whole process was quite fast this time. We shall see if there is any problem today or tomorrow. The old provider connection went off yesterday, normally the new internet connection should be active anytime soon… we shall see.

A new person moved in and another one should be coming soon. The new guy is probably ~30 years old and he has a strong foreign accent, maybe from Eastern Europe since he is white and does not sound Italian, English or German. I thought he was with his wife since I heard voices and it smells good cooking sometimes. Yesterday, he came and asked me about the code to his apart and I figured it out for him. The window of the living-room part of my studio is wide open so everyone is talking to me naturally when they enter the building. It was a bit hard to understand what he said because of the accent and his french is a bit rough. I do not think he has a car.

ReTrOspective AnAlysis!

After Diane’s wedding, we were playing in the garden and my cousin, Anne/Thao, jockingly said to her boyfriend who was teasing her about eating legumes from her dad’s garden: “You were indeed my plan-B to avoid eating my parents’ soup”. Looks like that all girls left da house after having a boyfriend: their exit ticket or their excuse to leave the house smoothly? A very old fashion pattern in these modern times when you’d expect a kid to get out of the house after having a job and then maybe get married. Maybe in the “Plan-B”, “B” stands for “Boyfriend” and it turns out to be the master plan: Plan-Boyfriend.
Shall the next poor chap be warned? A pattern is not a law but like “the sun rises in the east”, 3 girls so far have managed to reach their goal. Shall I mention also that the wedding is usually set to happen approximatively 2 years after moving in together?

I had fun playing WoW yesterday; The game is getting old and of course the new updates did not produce the same addictive effects like in the past. The server I am playing on is a bit empty nowadays so it is hard to fill in with people for 10-man raid games. We were only 7 players yesterday until I proposed to use OQ, an add-on that allows inter-server recruiting. The unexpected happened, we got lucky and the players recruited were really good and helpful. We ended finishing 4 bosses a feat we could not achieve last week. People I was with did not use OQ and were quite impressed with this new opportunity to recruit people.

EVerYday DrAmA!

The old lady in front of my house decided to put her Alzheimer husband in the hospital for 3 weeks. She warned him she would do it and finally she did it. Social Security will pay for this short term treatment. Financial considerations prevented her from doing it permanently she told me. Strange financial considerations from an old woman who will die in few years. At least, we will not hear the everyday shouting for 3 weeks.
The owners of the flat above mine are checking the building everyday. The bro and sis from Senegal left without a notice. Looks like there was no communication anymore between them. They make me nervous circling around the building every day. All they want is their keys. They tried to ask me to help them recover these keys and I basically made it clear to them that I am on the other side. I basically told them that I do not like owners who are exploiting people.

I applied to Bouygues, “da” new big deal of “da” month!
4 months reimbursed + 6 months free 4G trial (12 gb) + 100 euros to cancel with the old provider + 80 euros to buy new 4G devices! That sounds too good to let go so I jumped in. As soon as they have the Iphone 5S gold in store, I will exchange my old one Iphone 4S (190 euros) and use the 80 euros to buy the Iphone 5S.
