Vuescan is a useful program that allows very fast and easy manipulations of my HP Office 8600 multi-functions printer/scanner. I just wanted to finish the scanning of the old photos. The printed photos are scanned at the highest resolution possible: 4200 dpi. Each file is about 150 Megabytes.
Flickr allows some nice photo manipulations with automatic zooming and it allows to check everyday detail on a single screen. I am gladly surprised with these improvements. Some photos are blurred however it has nothing to do with the scanning but with the original picture itself.

“The Revenant” was excellent but very crual and extremely bloody.
The flu is over but I need to get rid of the cough. I think it is due to my throat being sore and highly sensitive after few days of intense coughing.

It is very hard to know why someone bursts into illogical anger and hysterics against the neighbors. You need to let the anger run its course and somewhere at the end of this whole chaotic event, you catch the simple words that explain everything:
“…I lost my baby a month ago”.
The real pain and drama was hidden beneath. I had the chance to catch the truth and sadly I was the only one. For the other neighbors, the woman was just hysterical.

The flu allowed me to get rid of 2 kilograms and the natural fast cleaned up all my body since I could not eat anything besides liquids (milk, honey and water).
The “couscous dude” who doesn’t have a driving licence just drove an old car. He is the one who wants the french visa from his arranged wedding.

There wasn’t any good and juicy steak on sale today even though I felt like having a big juicy steak for dinner, I bought instead a nice tender piece of beef and soy bean sprouts and made a simple Vietnamese home dish that I enjoyed. There was a lot of coughing on the way to the market and on the way back due to the cold and polluted air. My nose and my throat are completely purged of any mucus at the moment and they are highly sensitive to any particle in the air. I also prepared a nice smoothie with plenty of extra vitamine C to boost my immune system (pinnapple, oranges, sirup mix)

After 4 days and 3 nights in bed continuously, I am feeling better. I can breath normally through my nose (no more mucus to eject out of my sore body). I am feeling very weak but luckily I had enough good food in reserve: soups, milk, honey, some Chinese food I bought on Monday just before getting sick on Tuesday.
Outside of the warmth of the blankets the air is still cold (23 degrees Celsius) and painful but I am starving for a hot steak or good Kebab. I’ll see what I can order but there is a Kebab restaurant 200 m down the road.
This is no ordinary cold but it looks a lot like a painful flu that escaped the vaccine and I wondered where I could get this stupid thing. It was simple to guess that I must have got it last Sunday at the theater where I went to watch Superman vs Batman. The room was full of people sharing the virus. To my comfort, I am now protected against the B strain of the flu virus, the least dangerous one for at least 1 year or 2.

It seems that I got the flu according to the doctor. I checked on the internet and it is true that the peak of the flu has not been reached yet and it is a type B. The B virus strain was not included in the vaccine I had. She gave me tons of stuffs to wash and clean my throat and my nose and to easy my breathing. I really could not breath yesterday. She told me to stop Actifed, it doesn’t have any relieving effect for this type of flu. It does not seem very serious but it’s better treated now.
I noticed that 3 couples in the building just got their babies. It is like a baby boom in this building. These young couples look quite serious about their life and it seems quite natural.
The social burden is so strong among these people from Islamic origins. The old couple who got their babie in an arranged marriage to get the french visa is completely screwed up, socially and economically speaking.

I’ve got a bad version of a cold. I was stuck in bed for 3 days. My body is sore
Day 1: fever + sore body
Day 2: coughing and nose swelling
Day 3: body sore, nose swelling and coughing
I took an appointment with the doctor today even though it is getting better. It hurts like hell to move a single part of my body.
Usually, I get a cold when nobody gets it meaning when it is warmer. I probably forgot to pull the blanket over my body in Day 0.

I used to go to Red Lobster once in a while in the USA because I liked their expensive lobsters but also because I loved their garlic breads. I missed these hot crispy and scrumptious little breads they served as appetizers. I always asked for an extra basket. I bought two lobsters that were on sale and I ate them today. It reminds me of these garlic breads:

I attended the conciliation session yesterday at the employee claims court (“Conseil des prud’hommes”). It went smoothly and positively in my favor.
The employer’s lawyer was very agitated when he learned that his long written conclusion was not read by the president. He had to improvise without preparation and he was obviously not prepared for that. My lawyer and I did not speak much. We quietly and calmly answered every questions. The president insisted 3 or 4 times that my employer should negotiate and he set the deadline to August 2016.
I thought like many people that it was like a court room with everything I saw in the movies. It was just a small room with 2 nice people. The questions were simple, practical and very humane. It was actually worth my time!
I think I will enjoy this process if it is like this all the way long. More people would try if they knew how simple it really is.
