Samba, the old man from the 5th floor. This is the guy who has several kids back in his village and who wanted to bring his sick kid to France. He stopped by and asked for help with transferring all his data from his old Iphone 4S to an Iphone 5 (gift from a friend).
1. He gave me a bottle of whisky (10 Euros)
2. I did the transfer in less than 2 min however I wasted 2 hours chasing his old friend login and password in order to deactivate the Iphone security.
3. He told me that he paid 19.99 Euros / m for his new Sim card and phone plan. I told him that I have the same deal for 3 Euros / m.
4. He asked how he could get such a deal, I told him that he needs to read the internet and wait for the right deal to come up.
He had the same kind of look when I told him what he could/should do to help his sick kid: meaning a shoulder shrug, the eyes focusing somewhere else, a gentle smile that has no real meaning.

Nowadays things are very complicated on internet. You can try to help people by telling them where they can find information which they need however they make a minimum effort in order to use this information.
Here is the typical behavior I adopt when I help people:
Me: There is this deal on internet at this link or the answer you look for is here.
Others: Where?
Me: at the link I gave you or everywhere else if you know how to use Google!
Others: where is it, I don’t see it.
Me: Just take your time to read, it’s there and good luck!
Most of the time, people I talk to just give up and it’s fine with me nowadays. I move on, I did my best to help and I won’t waste more energy to read for people. They need to do their homework.

iOS 10.2.1
I wasted 1 day to find out that the latest iOS for Iphones, iOS 10.2.1, cannot be jailbroken. I wanted to use Tetherme to bypass the 20 Gb limitation of my 2nd Sim card but it requires a jailbroken Iphone. I can use it on my old Iphone 4S but it doesnt have 4G LTE capabilities!
My life would be so boring without these funny programming hacks.

I went to visit my parents today. My dad told me that the building manager will install cameras in their underground parking consequently to the fire in a car few weeks ago. I tried to ask few questions but I do not think that my parents or my brother really cared for the answers.
If the “real answers” were: there was an accidental fire, it cost 3 000 Euros to repair, everyone was afraid and few people complained so the building manager proposed to install cameras for 12 000 Euros. It seems awfully illogical to me however I am not the one paying!
My own experience with building management is very simple: Pay for the damages if the insurance refuses to pay and then move on! Why ? It’s cheaper, less time consuming, more logical and…it’s life!

I canceled a stupid meeting organised by the property managing company of our building. They tried to extend their contract without proper competition call. I also asked everyone to vote NO all of their propositions and I canceled their meeting. I warned them that I would sue each of them if they try to do anything illegal.
I also told them that I will publish all the negative views about their companies!

I enjoyed drinking tea but somehow I like to eat dried green tea leaves as well. I tried to look up on internet and there is not many people doing so. They do cook with tea leaves and eat them as spice. However, I did have not many articles about people eating dried tea leaves directly from the box. My favorite tea leaves are the “twinings gunpowder green tea leaves”

I had a hard time sleeping because I was drinking too much tea these days. I found a funny video that helps me sleep with strange breathing exercises. Without knowing it, I slept 3 times tonight very quickly: SAAAAAA and OOOOOMMM did work!

“Couscous dude” came and asked me if I know how to configure a “demo wifi”. It was, in fact, a satellite receiver. I told him that he needs to connect to a satellite dish for the receiver to work. He told me that the receiver should work through Wifi. Indeed, the receiver can connect directly to the internet and play movies through a specific streaming site. Many internet ADSL boxes do the same thing. My TV can do the same thing without any receiver!
His real problem is that he does not know what Internet/Wifi, radio signals or satellites signals are. It is very confusing in his head. For him, Wifi is not internet related even though the first thing he did was to connect to his internet box through the Wifi server and enter the Wifi password :’)
Chromecast would do exactly the same thing but better!
