Reading Sunday!

After the little electro-shock last week, I came to realize that it is urgent for me to read quickly the material about Intellectual Property. I can do very good if I work a little bit more. It is indeed just a bunch of rules to learn and I have a very good memory. Of course the more you know, the more flexible and rich your essays are.
This week is the last time where they will provide pizza for the movie night. What a shame, I enjoy this regular social meetup with a bunch of residents in this building. Chebet expressed some annoyance concerning her flatmates and particularly one of them who would not clean. I am happy I took steps quickly to ask for help among my flatmates. We still have the cleanest kitchen. I even requested them to buy something and Kat did. Not everyone will do but at least the majority of my flatmates are making an effort and it is easier this way.
I requested the cancelation of the bank draft last Thursday and I was told the money should be transfered directly to my ANZ winthin 6 weeks. Very annoying! Too much money involved!

After a long reading week during which I did not read a single page, I had to pay a price in order to finish my assignments on time! I did finish all of them and I am exhausted. It was a heavy week for me. I did pretty well and I liked very much Intellectual Property. I do not think I will ever like Trade Mark Law. It is too tricky.
Malinda managed to come again this morning to my big surprise. She kind of enjoyed these strange morning workout sessions then. I guess I will see her more often then. Tonight there is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. She asked me if I will go and I said yes.
It is becoming more social now at lunch during class days. Chebet and her friends joined me at the canteen which is nice. I do not have to go home and eat alone. I get to know and talk to many more of my fellow classmates.
I am glad I did not commit to any trip this weekend. It will be a rainy and miserable weekend. I shall read and continue on my reading now that the momentum has started!

32 Weeks and 4 days

Time flies so quickly since my departure from Australia. I cannot wait to see all this over. I wish it was just like a dream, you close your eyes to go to bed and you open them, it’s a new day!
No hiking this weekend! The last one was uncomfortable socially speaking and extremely unpleasant physically, it was wet, cold and miserable. One to forget! I welcome a quiet and relaxing weekend. Far from everyone and all by myself. Amy will be in London with her boyfriend.
Looks like someone started to realize how nice I am with cleaning the kitchen regularly. Someone started to help me taking the trash out. I suspect it was Kat.

What’s wrong with girls?

Malinda, a law student, kept on asking me to go to the gym at 6:15 am and she kept on missing it! It’s the second time today and she even came yesterday waking me up at 11 pm to give me a note saying she will be there. I woke up and told her 6:15 am instead of 6:30 am because I have a small window for the competitive pool, only 2 hours! My friend, Chebet, a law student from Kenya also, she asked to meet me the other week almost 3 times and she missed it each time. Finally this chick on Couch Surfer website, HAPPYBUNNY, she kept on inviting me to parties to which she’s never there on time.
I think girls and time is not a good combination. The thing is I am so punctual and I cannot help it!

I swam a bit too fast this morning after a very hard hike on Sunday! It was nice though, I had a whole lane by myself almost for an hour which is unusual. The winter started to do its effect…less people at the pool! Weeeee! The hike was not very nice, cold and wet! No pictures.
I talked again to Rafiq, the guy who made noises. We both avoided the subject and things seem fine this way.
I need to do some homework. I really need to read about these two classes I have. I do not think I am moving during Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I have a very important exam just after!

A very quiet night yesterday indeed! Good sleep and excellent swim. I talked to two fast swimmers at the pool today and asked them about the fast, private lanes. They do not mind me swimming with them and one of them made me laugh when she said the public fast lanes were crap and full of people who were like “shit”. I just told her they were a bit slow and she confirmed! My new goggles weren’t good, I need to return and exchange them. They leak.
New Desperate House Wives: (Season5)! I did not know they were available :). I thought season 4 was the end. I also saw Dexter’s new episodes. I kind of lost interest in Dexter. I am currently downloading “Just shoot me” for Amy. It is not bad!

Very bad day!

I had a very short night, one of my flatmate had friends in the common kitchen and I could not sleep. After going out 2 times asking them to talk less loudly, I asked them to leave at the 3rd time. My flatmate had the idea to try to insist to stay I told him to leave now or I’d call someone to make them leave!…an unexpected verbal fight. I had a hard time swimming today due to lack of sleep and my body is sore.
I called the french bank and they had no idea what happened to the credit card they requested for me. I called the Australian fund and they confirmed they’ve sent a cheque by regular airmail to me and had no idea where the bank draft is also….The good side of it is that if they loose, it I will request the fund to be transferred to my Australian bank. The conversion was not in my favor!
Two old internet friends, Boshit and Nobod, reappeared like ghost from the past and I knew bad things would happen. My life is like a circle!
My blog was messed up and I had to fix it today!

I did not enjoy much the social side. I had the impression half of the group did not like me much. I usually set a quick pace when I am in group 1, the hardest group.

Ready to Rumble!

Water/windproof pants + water/windproof hat + thermal base layer to protect against the cold. I am ready for tomorrow’s Hike. The thermal base layer is really nice, makes me look like an athlete. It was made in germanny and it fits me like a charm. I love it! The weather seems nice though according to the forecast. They will be usefull next time I am sure. The weather in England is so bad!
Let’s see also how the group will react from now on. They are still reluctant to change their methods. Their forum is not too bad but it looks quite ugly. Maybe I can convince them to change it sometimes. My post is now one of the most popular one. People even outside of the Hiking club answered to the post.
We shall see!

My last coin!

I was waiting and waiting for the AUD to go higher compared to the Euro and it would not happen. So in the end, I had to transfer money from my french bank instead! But I did it last Friday so I was a bit short on cash during the weekend. Also the expensive trip with the Couch Surfing Group on Saturday and the dinner on Sunday with an old friend, Skye, from Australia left me with 5.80 GBPS on Monday.
Then I wanted to send to Kegel, the dutch bloke from IRC, my router. I ended with 90 pence lefts! It was funny because I still could use my Australian credit card but I could not withdraw cash. I would need one coin to put in the machine at the pool. I was quite happy to see my Barclays account credited with cash on Tuesday night but then I realized I did not need the coin on Wednesday because of the polo team!
My unexpected fame kept on pursuing me! My post went all the way up to 290 hits! Everyone seems to want to add their voice now to the post. I went on Wednesday paying for my next hiking trip and things have changed. Everyone is now quiet and polite. They were waiting for me to speak out first. I was as usual not very talkative so the admin guy had to ask if everything was working for me now. I told him there was still some problems but I could manage to transfer all my pictures to their forum. I think they are happy now!
Very funny how things turned out in the end!
