I am in Melbourne just for one day. It is cold and I only have light clothes with me. It is a pretty city at night, as pretty as Sydney and prettier than Brisbane! MSN isn’t working for unknown reasons. I was very late at the airport because I tried to book my taxi the last min using internet and of course hotmail was down. One day using internet in this hotel costs $30. I am glad there is a bottle shop just down the street. I bought a Heineken and Vodka Blood Orange twist for the night.

That is a pretty expensive day!!!!

The countdown has started!
I had a fantastic swim this morning with 3 other people in the fast lane. All about the same speed and I setup the pace. One guy was stronger and faster but he did not last. So he could not catch up with me. New people are joining the pool as school started. I’m glad to see new stronger swimmers. I was getting bored with the old same people. Hopefully there is no slow ass jumping in the fast lane though. Some people tend to do that!!!

Weeeeeeeeeee! That’s all I need. A good sleep and a good meal, two major requirements in my life. I am in a constant mood with these two elements fulfilled otherwise I am extremely moody.

A good swim!

Despite a hard night! I couldn’t sleep well…heat, noise, beers. I noticed that a good swimmer has been using my rhythm as a target. He always starts at the same time I reach his end and tries to catch me. I gave him hard time today…It took him 11 laps= 1.1 km to equalize and he had to stop. I used my legs time to time to add some speed. Funny game, I enjoyed it! There was a heat wave today, I am glad I did not join the 2 days camping event atCouch Surfing. I would not enjoy much because it would completely disturb my sleeping pattern.
A tourist felt on the Citycat ferry and knocked out one of his front teeth…poor dude but kinda of funny at the same time. I didn’t see how he could manage that besides being over distracted. Fedora Core 8 finally updated the ATI driver and my screen can finally display its optimum resolution. It toook about 3 months.

A day to remember! It is indeed the day when I will get my very first interview in the business world. For the best or the worse, my life will take another turn today at around 5:05 pm. The result of the meeting in itself does not matter. It is more the consequence of the action. Yes I no longer look for a job in science. I no longer hope to pursue a career as a teacher or a researcher but I am changing the direction of my professional life.
I had a terrible swim. My shoulders are dead tired. I wasn’t even exceptionally fast. It is probably the consequences of the run up to Mt-Cootha. It is hard to resume such a hard run after a month break.

I won $29.10 at the Gold Lotto on Saturday. I went to see the movie, “Jumper”, and ate at Indooroopilly on Sunday. The movie was entertaining…It needs more depth but it is fun to watch. I will get my very first job interview in the business world on Wednesday at 5 pm. I smile at this idea… that is right, a postdoc working in the research area like me will get his interview with a business. Maybe that is all I really need…make the move and stop thinking like a scientist! there are many things I can do and apply my knowledge and my skills to. I guess a lot of people are making the same mistake: we all narrow down our path to things we are used to but in reality we can do many things in many different domains. I also booked my ticket to my next destination and I tried to rent a studio.
At the pool, a woman was very impressed with my finis underwater mp3 player and she was so amazed after trying it out. Paul, another good swimmer, tried it out as well. It is fun to make new friends with my fancy toy. Paul told me he will buy it for his Birthday on March 20th. It is quite expensive and I do not know if people would really invest $300 into a toy they do not use as much as I do. To enjoy music like I do, they would need to swim for a while the freestyle. Paul can easily do it though!

My blog has fully migrated!

Everything is working just fine and to the rest of the world nothing has changed much. My blog has moved to a new home :). I am happy it went smoothly. It has a tremendous advantage now. It is fully portable and it is on a Debian system. Much more stable than my Asus laptop.

Moving onto Eno’s box!

For the next few months, I will be in transit without a fixed internet connection. I have asked Eno to store and keep my wordpress blog on his server. That would make my life much easier. I can update things from any internet cafee.
