Nutshell!

This is my state of mind right now. When I am not feeling good mentally, I usually picture myself being in a nutshell, isolated from the rest of the world! In these moments I really try my best to avoid any human contact. Yesterday, my dinner felt on the floor. So annoying! I was so upset! I forgot to take a picture of the mess I had to clean.

I am going to do some yoga stretching exercises to flex my shoulder and to relax.

Getting better!

My mood is improving. All the little annoying things seem to go away by themselves. Good! In these moments, all I need is to do things I like. I reinstalled my laptop. It was time to try to fix few things. Well nothing has changed but I am happy I did it. At least, I know now. I wiped out at the same time the D partition in the process, there was nothing important on it. All important data are on my backup HD. Everybody should have at least one backup HD. My wordpress blog was up and running right after. Yippie!

Looks like I will be all alone this weekend since Nils will be at a friend’s place until Monday. I have no plans so I guess I will play with the Nikon and do some HTML coding for Kegel! His request seems not hard but I never did some serious html coding besides fixing my own blog. We shall see.

A chick tried to chase me at the beginning in the fast lane. She touched my foot once then I increased my speed. I did not know if she had the intention of passing me but after 2 laps I think she gave up on that idea. I do not swim really fast by myself as long as I can relax and cruise along. If someone jumps in the fast lane, then I will just match his/her speed since it is a FAST lane. After few more laps, I took the lead and passed her several times until the end. I like swimming on Tuesday and Thursday when Peter is in the same lane. Very challenging! I wish someday I can be faster than him on 2kms. He does not swim as fast after 2 kms. It will be my goal before I leave Australia for good.

A run and a swim

It seems that doing both helps my body to re-equilibrate itself. I am just too tired to push myself after the run to get my shoulders hurt during the swim. Nice combination anyways! Yesterday, I resumed the run after a long hiatus (2 weeks) I was all stressed out because of the conference and then my Nikon came, so not much time to devote to running. Now I am back on track. I had to walk home for the last km, both of my legs had cramps. I wasn’t tired or anything …damn cramps!

I am not in a good mood, many little annoying things came at once. I should just focus on what I like to do and forget about the rest! That’s the way to go! smile smile smile, that’s life!

A thief of time!

We had a discussion with Nils yesterday about our personal conception concerning photography. I was a bit deceived when he told me he didn’t have any picture of him or his brother from their trip to Noosa. I personally think that if you can take a perfect picture. Go ahead! Take as many as you can! But try also to add some pictures of yourself in the beautiful scenery to make it more personal and to show people you love, that you were there! This is also very important.

“Life can change with every breath you take” Capture a moment of it is my goal, make it mine forever! Be a thief of time! Being in the picture allows me to fulfill this quest of mine. Besides there is no limitation to digital photography anymore so why not? Just do it because you can!

Today, the swim was endless and extremely painful. Both of my shoulders are sore. I am very tired. There is this woman in a blue suit. She is as regular as me and she swims for a long time too. Because of her age she is not as fast. Today she talked to me. We have never spoken before but today she told me after I finished my swim: “I am almost done… almost”. It made me laugh, as long distance swimmers, we both know how hard it is to swim for that long. So even though we have not spoken much, we do share some intimacy: the PAIN.

Nils should be back sometimes today. Hopefully he had a great time at Noosa.

Mt Tibrogargan

I made it all the way to the top! Other people had to stop at a very dangerous cliff! I was not too sure about it myself but I realized it was very easy after the sharp edge, so there I was! All alone at the top.

I wonder whether my place looks better! It looks smoother!

Wet Wet Wet!

It keeps on raining regularly the last few weeks which is good for Brisbane. I am a bit tired of hearing water restriction everyday on the news. It gets boring with time even though it is the main issue for Australia. So I am not complaining when it rains and I am hoping for even more for the sake of novelty in the news.

Nils finished his last exam yesterday and he is at Noosa over the weekend. I hope the weather is a bit better where he is…. I seriously doubt about it because the Sunshine Coast is only one hour away from Brisbane. But as I said, let’s all be happy when there is rain. That’s the spirit! It might get better later though. The birds are singing… good sign! They usually stop singing when it rains a lot and for a long time.

It took me a lot of self-convincing to get up this morning. My right shoulder still hurt but I made it to the pool. As usual I will clean the place and enjoy a quiet Saturday morning. I am not in a mood to go anywhere. Time to complete the infamous TO-DO list. The one that I never got around to do during the week.

I could exchange the SATA USB enclosure for a normal IDE one and my backup HD is working fine now. One problem solved, a few more to go. I still need to fix the wireless, for some reason it would not work. It looks like it is a software issue. The computer seems fine now. I think I should do a fresh installation this weekend.

Nils came for a swim this morning. That was cool considering the exceptional early time 4:50 am. He had an exam at 8 am and was afraid of not waking up on time. So we ran and swam together one time. Let’s hope he will be more regular in practicing sport from now on. He has the potential, he just lacks the will. It will only do him good! A fit body is the visible reward, and of course, a good healthy life is the natural consequence.

I am hoping I can spend some times with my nikon d200 this weekend. I want to make more perfect water drops :). They are fun!

I really don’t know. I try hard to avoid thinking about it so that I do not have more white hair than I should have for my age! Sometimes late at night when I cannot sleep, the unavoidable question comes back. The only way to resolve this problem of course is to run and swim as hard as I can during the day so that when the night comes, I have no choice but to sleep. Sometimes I wish I am different. I wish I do not have these psycho-depressive behaviors.

The “hidden Eden” photo at Mt Barney got picked up by the organizer again to be the welcome picture. Many of my pictures were chosen and I am very proud of them. I have a natural feeling for things that are beautiful. Even for my work, the pictures just look perfect. The perfect blue drop is an example of my desire to look for perfection. I could not stop until I got the perfect drop (3 days!)

Today I had a good swim with Peter. It is now a confirmation, I got much faster. I can keep up with him at any pace and at any length. Happy! Happy! Happy Me!
