I am curious because you, my mystery reader, are quite regular on my blog but I do not know you besides your IP address.  Maybe you can tell me whether you know me and give me hints about your identity, your blog link?

I was very tired this morning. I had a strange dream in which I saw myself and my family back in the old times when we started our lives in France. Nothing sad or happy about the dream but for some reason it was very clear. It means I guess that I did not sleep well. So the swim was not very enjoyable. I was quite fast I think. I passed all people in my lane which was not too hard. At one time it was so crowded because the team squad lanes were full. The coach was nice, packed his people and freed up one lane. He immediatly saw my moves as I waited and he told me” Pierre, Lane 4″. It was funny because he almost considered me as one of the squad members. :)

Besides few people in the squads, I only count 4 regulars who are faster than me nowadays. They do not swim that long though! Another chick tried to pass me, I added a little more strength to my strokes to remind her nicely that she just jumped in the pool and that she should not underestimate me. Indeed she was slower… much slower after two laps. This is a common mistake people tend to do. As they just jump in the pool, they are fresh and fast but they usually …don’t last like me. After few laps, they tend to be extremely slow whereas I maintain the same speed all the way and that for 120 laps.

I downloaded this book to learn more about photography: US Navy Training Course: Photography (Basic). It reminds me a lot my school books from my preparation school for high level mathematics. The book is very precise and easy to follow. I knew all the basic theory at one time in my life but it is very refreshing to read up again the fundamentals. Anne and Fabien are at Kangaroo Island until Thursday. I probably lost my most regular blog reader until then.

Second life is dead boring, I expected something like the Matrix. Well it was more or less the Sims or worse Pokemon. It was just a first impression though. I will give it another serious try sometimes.

I want I want I want THIS:

Only few seconds!

This is about the time you have to take a good photo in real life. Photography is fun. A lot of satisfaction when you get a very good shot. 1/225 sec was the time I had to get my perfect water drop! I am very happy with my photos yesterday. I will go and wander around Brisbane for more pretty pictures. It is a bit heavy to carry the Nikon around (1.2 kgs!). I just love my nikon d200 though. It has a little name: Niko! I am reading a lot about the theory of light for now and more about the art of photography as well. This is a time consuming and very expensive hobby! I should find a photography meetup in Brisbane! It should be funnier to have more people with SLR cameras to take pictures with.

And here are few stuffs we came back with. Out of 200 hundred shots, only a few good one as usual.

Well… half of them are gone by the time I woke up. I wanted to walk around Brisbane city with my Nikon D200 and add some fancy pictures to my blog. I cannot convince myself to buy the nice bag ($120) I saw at Harvey Norman. I should buy it though because it is the main excuse to why I would not go out with my Nikon. Also, I am undecided about the tripod, the ones with a decent price ($88) are a bit too long. The really good one that would fit in my bag is like $200. Photography is definitely not a cheap hobby! I downloaded a book to help me with photography: Digital Art Photography for Dummies (Wiley, 2006). I would like to put my hands on the one designed for the nikon d200.

By the time I finish writing this post, it stopped raining and the sun is out again. Do I still want to go out? I’ll need a lot of motivation, I will wait for lunch time.

Relxing Saturday!

The apartment is all clean, the laundry is finished! After a short stop at Indooroopilly to eat my favorite Vietnamese dish, I went quickly to Toowong on my way home to grab my dinner and a bottle of Bailey. All the duties are finished, now I have the rest of the weekend to relax. Saturday is my favorite day of the week. I had Lane 5 all by myself for most of my swim. Yippie! Maybe people realized now that the only purpose of my intense swim session is to relax. They leave me alone. Maybe they get annoyed also by the number of laps I do :)! Who knows!

I will take care of my Asus today and install most of the programs I had before. I want to take pictures of water drops again!

The Void!

My Finis underwater mp3 player went silent today during the swimming session. It felt really strange! I am so used to swim with music nowadays. The battery was out. It is good for 6 hours I remember. I hope it will work for a while because it is quite expensive and it takes sometime to ship it over to Australia from the US. I do not want to buy another one yet because I am hoping they will upgrade it sometime in the future.

I tend to swim faster when there is a good tune I really like. It plays randomly my list and there are about 50 songs on there.

Interpreted by Nelly Furtado and written by Coldplay: LINK

I love this song especially when it is played in the shopping center. Very strange but I listened to it one time around 6 pm in the evening in Toowong shopping center and I just stopped walking and I enjoyed the metallic sound coming from the speakers. Most of the time, people do not care much but the song is talking to me so deeply. I just love it. Today, one of the woman in the refectory told me she is leaving for good and she won’t serve me again! She said it was a a pleasure meeting me and serving me all this time. I was very sad to hear that but it seems that she got a better job, so all is good for her! I told her we will probably run into each other in the future because Brisbane is a small city.

Because of my routines, people tend to notice me. I always do the same things at the same time of the day. Also, I tend to be very original in my choices, I always ask people for something different than what is proposed on the menu or a mix of things that are supposed to be part of different meals. Most people are kind enough to oblige (not always)! But in the end, the result is the same, it is hard to forget me! So far so good! I won’t change my behavior. It adds some spice to my boring routines.
