Stupid events 2!

I lost my phone while returning a puma jacket to the store. The phone was in the jacket pocket!
Jacket returned: +65 Euros
Lost phone: -75 Euros
New phone: -69 Euros (bonus 60 euros free call deal on the new phone)
Sim card number transfer: NO Free call deals! DAMN! So stupid!
Claire, my second flatmate, is having 3 guests from Thursday until Saturday. Her sister will stay until Tuesday. I guess I will be staying in my room most of that time. I talked to Coura for a while today. She is finishing her contract and has to go back to Senegal soon. What a shame! The turmoil in the US business market has affected her alot!

12 Weeks in Ireland!

Time is getting loooong! I am waiting for the school answer. I have posted tons of applications and I am tired of keeping count of them. There are signs it is moving but not in the direction I want to. As soon as I get the school application then I will know what to do next.

People and me!

So I told my flatmate I would not go to the wedding and take pictures of strangers. Things immediately got chiller! Social behaviors always got me into troubles. He had to pay 80 euros to someone to take these pictures. It seemed that he promised to the couple special photos on my behalf! It’s been over 6 hours now and he has not come home yet! I am so glad I did not go! It would have been a bad day!
I slept for 3 hours after the swim and woke up at 12 pm. I went out and had a burger king meal and then I wandered around in the shops. Funny day! I had fun using my credit card again. I will always keep 2 credit cards with me from now on! They are indeed very convenient! Tonight a nice football game and a good dinner from yesterday’s leftover. No swimming this Sunday or next Monday, there is a gala! 🙁

Visa card #2

In less than one month and half, I had received two visa cards! So unlucky! Every time I go to a new country, I always run into one single strange problem that keeps on repeating itself over the time and that annoys me. In Australia, it was the rental agent, a real nightmare, and in Ireland, it’s the banking system. No matter what I do, I am sure it will come back to annoy me whenever it can. So now, I am keeping at least 200 euros cash in a safety box just in case.
To kill time, I keep myself busy in weird ways that I won’t mention. It’s kind of funny though…I am trying to find an excuse for not attending the wedding tomorrow. In normal times, I usually avoid these events, I do not want to piss my flatmate off but I see no real reasons for attending this wedding. I get nothing out of it, I do not know these people and worse of all, it will take at least 4 hours and knowing my flatmate it will be longer!
I might just say, I have a meeting with an agency tomorrow! OR I just say the truth, I do not want to go! Seriously, I have never met these people and the fact they do not have a fancy camera is not my fault, they can just borrow one of these cameras from other people! Besides, it’s their personal business and they did not make arrangements before, so why should I care? It’s not because I have free time that I want to attend weddings from strangers.
Take a bus for an hour to go to Dublin 2, wait for 3 hours to take pictures of strangers then go back home by bus… probably 5 hours in total…really not something I want to do!

Nike/Adidas/Puma

I bought recently few items from these brands. Quite nice! I prefer the active wear shirts. They are very trendy but extremely hard to maintain. A single scratch against the wall or a piece of wood and you can damage the whole fabric! I read on Nils’ site he is leaving Australia in 18 days. Strange! I thought he would stay at least until the end of the year. Hopefully, he will find someone to take over his lease or he will loose the deposit. I got “invited” to a wedding. In fact my flatmate’s friend is getting married and they need someone with a fancy camera to immortalize the event. I guess I can do that. I would not do it again though. I do not enjoy people’s company that much.
Finally the electricity bill came. I was happy the cost was the same. My flatmates thought it would be more expensive since I stay home. I won the bet since I said it would not be higher. One coke for me! It was cheaper if we count the fact it was 64 days instead of 63 (February month and we had a guest for one week!) I told Claire that since she thinks it is still expensive. I guess she will never be happy anyway!
Where is this damn credit card!!! I thought it would come today!

Quiet Weekend!

Eno moved my blog to another box of his using Slackware and it took me two days to fix the blog and to update old pluggins that would not work anymore with the new php version. Very annoying but all is good now!

Stupid day!

The ATM machine rebooted after taking my bank card. I had to cancel the card and order a new one: 20 Euros lost and it wasn’t my fault. Annoying! My flatmate got his car scratched by some kids again. It will cost him about 200 euros to paint the door again. Sometimes life is really stupid!
My UQ email account was finally disabled. Good thing is I do not have to delete 10 spams a day again. Eno’s HD died, it was in fact one of my spare HD I sent to him after I left Australia, I bought him a new one for $61 and I noticed that the US dollars was so weak it only cost me 63 AUD. If I had a job in the US I would have plenty of cash!
Time is getting long now, after two months and half of job searching, I am reaching a point where I do not care anymore: Resignation time after stress time! Indeed I cannot do much but wait and see.

I think I improved each of my swimming lap by 2 secondes. Meaning I am doing now the 6 kms in 1 hour and 40 min (50 sec per lap). Below the 50 sec per lap I am officially a fast swimmer. I felt very tired this morning after achieving this fast personal record. I passed practically everyone that was there in the pool.
Our internet connection went from 6Mb to 12 Mb now for free and we have 120 Gb per month! I am running out of good movies to download. I watched the Rolland Garros final and I was very disappointed. Federer was simply smashed by Nadal. My flatmate and I, we are watching the Euro 2008. I remember last time I went back to France it was the Euro 2004. It is funny how events keep on repeating themselves.
I read “Do Androids dream of electric sheep?” by Philip K. Dick, and I realized that it was the book from which “Blade Runner” was adapted. The story is completely different. Only the character’s names remain the same. I liked both I should admit. I finished the short book in one day.
I applied for more jobs but I was lazy recently. I kind of took a break after the school applications. Now I am just waiting for some responses. Mondays are boring, usually I get answers or calls on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Monday and Friday are dead.

Anger and Hope!

At 7:30pm yesterday, the internet went down again. I was so angry at the internet company. They finally came and fixed it after these painful days and it stopped working after 6 hours. I wanted to kill someone. I called the help desk and I was about to unleash my anger but the girl at the help desk was very nice and helpful. She apologized and did her best to understand. That surprised me and I just calmed down and I was very polite surprisingly. Things went smoothly and it seemed that we were experiencing an UPSTREAM overload, it simply means the lane cannot cope with the excess of traffic. The internet came back later sporadicly but today it was back to its old state. I could download 3 movies, etc… Looks like they fixed something today. I am just happy I am connected.
I also got two emails regarding potential job position. I took a break from answering ads the last 2 weeks because of schools applications I guess when I do not care anymore things are going well again. We shall see. That was the hope part!
I am in a very good mood! I guess all I need was the internet.

Major pain!

Accidents and catastrophes always managed to occur at a very bad time and the last major drama did occur on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend since Monday was a holiday here in Ireland. NO Internet on FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY and TUESDAY. I was going to get a depression! Someone managed to unplug us. We called and bitched at them as much as we could and it was useless. I managed to call them this morning at 11 am and told them that the tech guy assured me that someone will come and fix the connection. On my words, they went to check and sent out a guy to do the simplest task ever: PLUG the cables back! I was on tears when I saw what he did down there!
O JOY! O INTERNET! I cannot live without internet!
Nothing happened the last 5 days. I bought nice sweat-shirts and pants to recover my “garde-robe”. Now I have one thing to wear for each day of the week. There were 507 AUD that were sent to my ANZ account. I need to check where it came from sometimes today. Most likely, it was from UQ, they owed me 2 working days that were not included in my last paycheck. I thought I will not get them so I am glad if it was the case!
