Bad Night, Bad Day!
Just one of these days…I forced myself not to sleep after the swim. Also tonight, no beers, no sleeping pills, no drink after 7 pm.
Let’s see how things go. I need a nice long and continuous sleep!

Finally I managed to start the revision. It took a lot of courage and concentration. 6 questions per class, 12 in total since I have 2 classes. It does not seem too hard like this but it requires a lot of self motivation. I wonder how the others do. I bet they are just like me, lazy people! I met several known faces around yesterday. I thought I was the only one suffering here in Manchester. In fact there are quite a few people in the same situation.
Revolutionary Road, Slumdog Millionaire, Because I said so, The Tale of Despereaux, Little Manhattan, Milk, Griffin and Phoenix, Madagascar 2, The Family Stone
These are the movies I downloaded and watched. Slumdog Millionaire is outstanding, the story is violent and yet interesting. Milk comes second but it takes some times to get into the story, Sean Penn is remarkable nevertheless! I am waiting for Inkheart to be released on the pirated scene.

Scary Situation!
The laptop crashed and I had to reinstall several times. I thought it was time for the laptop to die. It was a bad timing since it happened on Christmas’s Eve. Luckily it was just the heat that made it unstable. Things seem fine now.
There is a girl in my class who keeps on annoying me about revision. I have not started yet and she wrote to me several emails asking whether she could join my revision group. I do not have one and I hate working with other people. It just seems a big waste of time to me. I told her I will just do the homework and last year exams. Yesterday, she wrote back and asked me if we could exchange our homework and exams answers to see if they match. I just stopped answering her emails…
It was nice to resume swimming today. Very relaxing and almost one lane by myself the whole time.

It does not look or feel anything like winter here in Manchester. It rained few days ago and now it is getting warmer with a beautiful sunshine. Strange weather! It feels like Autumn or Spring.
I just finished a movie: Revolutionary Road. That was dramatic to the highest level. El Orfanato and Revolutionary Road are the two most dramatic film I’ve ever seen. Not to be seen during Christmas holidays for sure! Winslet and Dicaprio again but this time, noone will sing "My Heart will go on"!
Maybe some "after-Christmas" shopping today: Boxing day!

Maybe I will try to do something different next year instead of spending this time of the year in my room. Hopefully a cruise in some hot countries or 2 weeks on a tropical island or in chalet and skiing.
I am trying some herbal sleeping pills to see if they work. I have also sleeping tea. No swimming on Christmas day and Boxind day :(.
Matchbox 20: Leave
Leona Lewis: Better in Time
I also read again some french comic books I have: Le Moine Fou, Les Chroniques de la Lune Noire, Thorgal, Lanfeust . It is strange but I have not found many of these on Rapidshare but there are quite a few on torrent. I do not use torrent sadly, it is very dangerous to use torrent on a campus connection. You get into trouble very quickly.

Lots of Rain but no Snow!
The weather’s dreadful in Manchester. Mainly Fog and Rain! If things go well, this will be the last winter of this type. I do not intend to have a lot of these in the future. Out of 6 flatmates, 4 of us stay here, quite unusual since many other people went back home.
I’ve received two french comic books: Thorgal and “Les Chroniques de la Lune Noire”. They are my favorite comic books before I left France 9 years ago. Van Hamme is no longer the scenarist for Thorgal and the story kind of drags on a bit. It was really a good story to start with. I wish someday there is a movie about Thorgal. That would be really nice. “Les Chroniques de la Lune Noire” has always been fun to read, a bit dark but quite sensual. No wonder why once the oracle was free, there was a sex scene right after! That was ackward especially when the end of the world was coming just few pages after.

Little Events!

An old lady at the pool complained with the staff about a poor dude who grabbed her leg while doing backstroke. The poor chap has a bad style and large arms span while doing the backstroke arm move. She should be honored at her age having her leg grabbed by a man, methink!
I like the shower in my room and at the pool. Compared to the tiny little flow I had in Dublin, this is like heaven on Earth!
My superannuation fund has not arrived yet and it bothers me. 5 months in total!
Sandeep, an Indian born British girl asked me if she can join my revision team with Chebet. I laughed since we have not started yet and I have not found the courage to open my books. But I know how to get a A :). Let’s just find the courage today to apply my plan!
I installed and played Civ 3 again. It was fun!
I lied to a hiking buddy who asked me if I wanted to go hiking on Tueday to the Peak District. The weather is so bad and I enjoy doing nothing that the only idea of spending a full day hiking is killing my joy! I replied in an email saying I got the flu :). It was a white lie. I did not want to hurt his feelings and I am sure he was happy not to go also but he would get upset if I just said no!
I promised myself never to lie to people, but I think when the purpose of the lie is not to hurt people and it gets me out of trouble…WHY NOT?
The GBP currency is going down…. YIPPPPIE!

The Desert!

The majority of students are gone after Friday. It was the last day of school. Now the University and the city itself is empty. I am used to these strong moments in the life of a university. For a university with 35 thousand students located in the heart of Manchester, the event is shocking nevertheless. I am sure the shopping center is still full of people but I do not feel like going there today.

That is awesome! It will be the movie tonight. I cannot wait! The Uni is getting empty which is fantastic! I need a quiet time all by myself to brush up on my law material.
The swim was really nice. I had my own lane for an hour and I even shared it with the team squad later on. They opened it right away today and I moved quickly to it. The other people were happy to get rid of me in their fast lane and they did not move. I love it when people are being reasonable.
