Feeling Strange!

After the exam last Friday, I was relieved but I was not very satisfied. I did okay I think but I could have done better. I just did not really find the motivation to do so. The reality is that the last four modules are just some random requirements for a LAW degree. Their only purpose is to ensure that I meet the 120 hours credits required for the diploma and nothing else. I have no real interest in them I will never have to deal with them anymore. It was a pain to attend the courses and it was a pain learning for the exams. One more to go Monday and all this should be over.
I booked my flight for next Sunday, the 14th of June to go back to Paris. I could not find any cheap flight with Air France for a one way ticket so I booked with Flybe.

Casting my Vote!

It is funny how I’ve never voted in France but I vote when I am abroad. Anyways, I will cast my vote for the green party here in Manchester. The two main parties are in deep shit and they all deserve it! I am trying also to book my flight back to Paris next week. I wanted to book a one-way ticket with Air France but it would cost me 435 GBP whereas a return ticket would only cost me 112 GBP. Life is sometimes illogical!
Great swim …all smooth and fast. Very relaxing compared to yesterday. I hit the water hard yesrterday but got nowhere. Today I was so smooth and I slide through the water. It’s all about technique.
My expansion account on Blizzard was locked yesterday and I have to call Billing in order to sort out the payment otherwise I cannit play my Death Knight character in World of Warcraft…annoying!

Spring Cleaning

Today is the day I throw away most of the useless stuffs I accumulated this year in Manchester. Empty boxes, school materials, bills, etc…I am a big “thrower” and I rarely regret anything. I used to be more careful but, after I left Lyon in 1999, I have decided not to keep anything. I am very careful with my databases though. With Hard Drives being bigger and cheaper over the year, it has been even easier to do so.
Time to prepare for the last two exams, Unfair Competion Law is on Friday at 2 pm and Copyright Law is next MOnday at 9:45 am. Let’s get hurt again. I really enjoy the feeling of relief after the exam but the preparation is freaking painful. I don’t know if it is a question of age but I cannot pull out an “all-night” session I used to do when I was younger. Nowadays I need to sleep around midnight and that is the latest I can do. I can wake up at 5 am though which is better!

The weather is just beautiful. It is not too hot yet but I am currently in the afternoon. The coming Friday’s exam is really annoying but I need to prepare for it. Among the last four modules it is probably the easiest one, methink!
I managed to find time to do my laundry between WoW..my priest is at level 54 soon to be 55!!! I was runnig out of clothes to wear and I started to r-use my socks. I am really a newbie in this funny game. I need to book my flight ticket soon. I just wanted to see how all exams go before I do anything just in case I need to come back to resit. It involves some administrative fees. Let’s not be too negative and think positive!

Vegetative State!

That was how I was during the weekend. I played WoW with my brother so intensively that I even forgot yesterday night that it was already Sunday until I saw on my clock alarm that it was Monday passd midnight. I thought the clock was broken…Time flew so fast when you play games. World of Warcraft is really a nice game: Priest level 53.
I had a fantastic swim even though my gogle is a bit loose. Great speed from til the end! It was a very good thing to resume swimming. Now time to prepare for the last two exams!

Perfect Exam!

I got exactly the two questions I predicted and I answered fully to both! GREAT. It was hot, I really did not spend much time learning and I could not reproduce exactly what I learnt but I bet it is good enough for an easy pass! I am so happy and relieved now. I will play WoW all weekend. The next exam is next Friday and it is quite predictable to pass this one.
I had to skip swimming this morning..very painful morning but it paid off.

It Will Hurt!

After the exam on Tuesday, it was too hard to concentrate again and my brain was oversaturated with the things I learned by heart before. Today it will require lots of will to finish up these 6 pages.
Excellent swim with not too many people. I was very fast at the beginning and could not keep the nice speed until the end. I think that if I want to improve my speed I need to reduce the lenght. It is too hard to train to do both.
Dave M sent out an email for a walk this weekend but he wants to do a 2 days camping… not for me! I rather stay home and play WoW. My priest is at level 37! 3 more levels and I can have the shadowform! Woahhh!

Unexpected Exam!

The exam questions surprised everybody and everyone had to improvise consequently. We were used to clear and predictable questions from this teacher who taught 3 modules over the year. He used to be straightforward in his exam questions. This time it was tricky and I hope that what I did was not too bad. It was strange and I felt nostalgic taking the exam in a huge sport center where hundreds of students are taking different exams at the same time. Souvenirs Souvenirs!
My priest in WoW is at level 36 now! It took time and dedications to bring “da baby” there! I should have picked another character, easier to play with as a beginner.
I tried to upgrade the internet connection at my parents house in Paris hoping for the best speed when I go back. There seems to be a DSLAM ECI bug concerning previous cases. Let’s hope that we will not have that and that we can go from ADSL to ADSL+2, For now they are only on 2432 Kbits. My brother keeps on earning more with his day-trading part time job.
The next exam is on Friday at 9:45 am!

First Exam!

It’s today at 2 pm and I still have 5 hours to brush up on the exam. I have finished learning by heart my answers yesterday, so I am just reciting today to make sure nothing is being left out. Memory is a tricky thing especially under stress conditions. I noticed I never really wrote or said exactly the same thing during exams or presentations. It should be OKAY.
I only swam 5 kms today so that I am not too tired. Resuming after 5 days is hard but I managed.

Bank Holiday

Today is Spring holiday. The town seems dead as usual. I took the trash down and there is a huge amount of trash being accumulated. For some reasons they have divided the number of bins. Also, I went to print some papers at the cluster room and it looked like a battlefield. Students are really dirty. Without people cleaning after them, things turn quickly messy.
Tomorrow my first exam and I am relatively confident. I managed to learn by heart half of it already and I will finish the other half today. Not too hard. Let’s keep fingers crossed and hope for the best.
