Three weeks after the moving, I am getting used to the place. I did not add many things and it remains as empty and as white as before. It is very functional and it has everything I need. A little spider has come with me and it is moving around the place. I’ll let it be at the moment.
Normally a company should check and fix the physical connection of the internet cables to our building this week. I just hope that it will be some minor things that can be fixed quickly so that I can get internet back. Not that I am unhappy with my H+ connection but I cannot download everything I want. There are not many good movies at the moment anyway.
#8 has remained quite silent and distant. Her parents left her place yesterday I think. They just came to help her moving in.
#2 has moved in and I heard some music yesterday late but she is quiet as well. I like her curtains. Very fancy looking curtains!

3 newcomers have moved in on Saturday. Lots of stuffs and of course lots of cars. The 2 French newcomers rented vans to move their stuffs in and one Arab family had borrowed friends’ vans. Most importantly #2 on my floor moved in next door. She seems quiet and we have not spoken much. I hope that the lift will be working soon because with all the moving there are scratches on the nice white walls.

I went checking places around using my bike to learn more about the surroundings. I also came back to my old studio to say hello to people there. I only met the old woman and nobody has moved in my old studio yet. It looks like the owner cancelled a deal that would allow 2 young students to move in. He is probably so afraid of meeting someone like me that he is taking extra precaution. I already warned the students about that risk anyway.

I was playing WoW yesterday and around 11 pm I saw a police car stopping right in front of my building.  6 police officers got out and checked the man in the car in front of them. After a thorough checking of the car and the man, they arrested him. That was a strange vision at this late hour and right in front of my eyes.

There are also huge changes to the roads leading to work. Major traffic changes and a lot of constructions underground. That only means that they are building something very important and big on the empty fields. I am happy because that means lots of major changes that can help increasing the value of my own place in few years.

I am feeling really relaxed and happy: no more cramps or sore body and no more urgent matters to take care off! The bad cough seems over also.

As time goes by, I met more and more owners in the building, they just stopped by to check but none has moved in yet. The architect of the building seems to know exactly where things should be. I am extremely happy with the way my studio was arranged. I am trying to use every single corner and I also tried to add more shelves. I do not have many things at the moment.

I am quite happy with the shelf I added above the toilet yesterday:here are few examples. I also added a shelf for the oven and now I have space below to add something for the kitchen utensils.

1. Electrical Oven medium size: 149 Euros

2. Mountain Bike + Helmet + Lock: 109  (149 initially) + 9.90 + 9.10 = 128 Euros

3. Dishwasher: 299 Euros

4. carpets, trash bin: 23 Euros

I am not spending too much :). I only bought things I really need for my personal comfort. I am trying to optimize the space to keep the nice studio as empty as it is. I like having the feeling of space.

So I met Mrs. Alonso, the owner of number 8 on my floor, a separate room + living/kitchen room. She moved in a day after me. She seems quiet and nice. We did not talk much except when I made a mistake about the electrical connection to my own room, using hers.
Yesterday a woman, future resident, also stopped by and asked to check my place since hers is not available yet. She will move in in April but she would like to see my place. She was very happy and we talked a bit. She works at the airport and she is paying almost 600 euros in rent. A nice person as well. There will be 8 people on my floor and I hope they are nice, quiet and clean!

I do not miss my old place a bit. I think I was so angry at the owner that the positive feelings are shadowed by the anger. Anyway, he regretted probably more for having met me and that is my only consolation. What a dumb ass!

I will buy a bicycle and visit the park and places around my building.

The most important stuffs are in my new studio and the old one is no longer under my responsibility. It took few days to get used to this new studio and I am still sometimes looking for stuffs around. I am trying to make my studio more comfortable meaning that I will try to add ONE THING (or more) to it per day until it feels like home:

Monday: front door carpet + Back door carpet.
Tuesday: Main bin for common trash. It was a cheap metallic bin and I had fun assembling the parts. I do not know if it will last but it is very convenient and simple.
Wednesday: I am looking for a shoe holder plus something to sit on when I put my shoes on.
Thursday: bathroom carpet

It was just the right thing to do: I secured a good place and it is financially safe and sound. So I woke up this morning happier. I fully recovered from the last 5 days and I had a good sleep even if it was late.
I hope that my brother will be able to do the same thing in the near future and I wish that my cousines will also get into the trend. I should have tried to get rid of the rent earlier but I moved too much and I never had a job that would offer long term prospects. I am alone so financially it was a bit harder.
I asked my parents to come and help for the last two heavy things, the washing machine and my rowing machine. It would be hard to move them alone even though I did it before.
I met three people who moved in just after me. They are on the same floor but I am not sure if the old man I met will stay here or he just came to help his daughter. I met them together and we did not have the chance to talk further.

Since I was the first one to move in, I was alone in this huge building for 2 nights. I met the watchman, a Cambodian man who will retire next year. He stays in his car most of the time, sleeping and checking on his dog. We talked a lot when he stopped by to get water for himself and for his dog. I also helped him opening a room so that he can have electricity since he is sleeping in his car: He has 4 kids, his younger brother has a nice job as an engineer working in the nuclear industry, he goes back to Cambodia once a year for vacation. Hard life for an old man! He seems healthy and very alert.
I tried to convert him to the Iphone/Samsung tablets showing him that he can watch movies and have internet in his car. I do not know if he will manage to get one but who knows.
At night, I walk around checking these empty rooms and scaring myself with strange noises. The building is so huge and so … empty.
