Here is the group:
The blonde: she was the first one I met. She is nice and works as a dental technician. She has a BF who is currently looking for a job.
The mixte couple: they are the only owners in the building. Hard working people in their late 20s. He is french and works for a duty free store at the airport, she is working for a store in Paris.
The brunette: She always has too much make-ups and her tight fluorescent pink outfits make her look like someone desperately looking for attention. She works for a car rental company.
The sister and the half-brother from Senegal: I rarely talk to the sister who works at some strange hours, I think she works as a cleaner. The brother is looking for a job. They both are in their late thirties.
The old lady: she is very old but has a clear mind. She is always waiting for a car to take her to the hospital. Her daughter is the owner of her apartment. She lives next to the bruntte and has started to complain about noises.
The salesman: he lives next to me and is waiting for his wife to come later. He is a nice dude who works in some sort of sales for exhibitions. He told me that he does not have a regular income.
The man in a suit: He seems to be in his mid-forties. I think he is a divorced dude and I have met his daughter. He is usually dressed in a suit for work. he avoids any conversation with people living in the building so I do not know much about him.
The couple from Tunis: he is in car sales and I do not know about her job. They have a big family and I see quite often their young relatives. He is always repairing cars he sells.
The mother and her young daughter: She is a divorced woman living with her young daughter. I do not know if she has a job but she seems busy with social life.
The noisy dude: he always let the door bangs that is why I call him noisy but he is very quiet and does not talk to anyone either.

Yesterday was the anniversary of my first year at my current job/company. It is not too stressful and the salary is decent. I have contributed to an important transition and I have simplified many tedious tasks and lengthy processes. More importantly, I have avoided many political issues by staying neutral and far away from them. Staying focus on the day-to-day work and avoid sensitive but secondary matters!
I am hoping to achieve soon the transaction of my new studio. It was a fruitful year! A stable job and my own place to live in. Yea yEa Yea!

The other institution also said YES and it will provide the 15 K for my loan! That’s it!
I talked to the old man who has Alzheimer. He cannot remember the name of his dogs… He told me that they are his son’s dogs when I asked him. I always stopped by to talk a bit to him or his wife. I am feeling a bit sad for them and sometimes I try to picture their life. It must be hard.
I befriend with most people living in the building since I have a strategic position. My place and my garden is at the front gate. I enjoy talking to them and I will be sad to live this place. It is not my place anyway.

aNd The Bank said YES!

One important key-step has been achieved: the bank formal agreement. Now, it is just about paperwork. I can no longer back out of the deal without paying a fee but I do not want to back out. I need to end this horrible thing called: RENT!
The cost is negligible compared to the rent and I would be saving money after 1 year and 5 months! If things go well, I should be able to end the main loan in 3 years! The secondary ones are better kept as is and my saving put in some saving accounts. We shall see how things go.
Now lets keep fingers crossed concerning my new studio!

After talking to SG, La Poste, LCL, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, I finally found the right one and the winner is: Bank populaire! I have an appointment with them at 4 pm to finalize the paperwork.
Interest rate: 2.55 %
No fees on early payment
Decent Guarantee fees: 0.9% of the amount
I was talking to my neighbors who bought something around 185 000 and it seemed to me that they did not do their homework. They only talked to one bank and they got an average deal that will cost them few thousands more over 25 years.
The whole thing was a bit stressful and of course time consuming without mentioning a little bit of brain but I was worth it.

I am getting nearer to a deal with the bank. It seems that there is no major problems and after talking to several of them, I am really getting nice offers. It is not too hard to know when you get the best deal, indeed, you get the best deal when most banks give the same answer! It means that they cannot do better. I will probably pick one of them next week and the bank will send me the formal offer in 10 days. I have then to accept or decline and that will be the end.

Total cost: 586 Euros which were reimbursed! I am glad I have a nice health insurance.

A StraNge CoUple!

For 5 months, I’ve witnessed a strange scene in front of my door: an old woman shouting at her husband who does not seem to mind and who repeats the same sentences: I knew there was something going on but…Today, the old woman came to me when I was doing some cleaning to my garden. I knew she would do it someday and I was glad she came today. The old woman told me: “You know I am shouting at him and it must be strange to you but he has Alzheimer’s disease”. Her voice was so different, it was tender, nice and a bit shy. She stood there and told me a bit of her story. She is 74 years old and he is 77. She told me why he keeps repeating stories about his time during the war between France and Algeria, why she makes him do some silly work in the garden and kept a perpetual fight between them. “What a strange thing, Alzheimer’s disease” she said. She was mentally tired and of course she was a bit sad. We kept talking about other, more casual, things after.
Anyways, now I know a bit more about them.

1. I got the diplomas.
2. I got an “easy” job with a decent salary.
3. I will buy a studio
…
Still I am not really excited about all this. I am still bored with my life. I am thinking about applying to a position in my company to work on a island near Australia (New Caledonia). We shall see if I get enough strength to send my CV. I think people I work with are quite pleased with my job. No complaints and problems to solve anymore. Maybe, it is time to move on to something else.
I was a bit annoyed by the banks, there are really not very good at maths. They are using a stupid software. I told them what I wanted and I insisted. Some of them had to call me twice to explain to me what they did. I only wanted them to apply my scheme step by step.
