I was busy last week with work. I also played a lot at WoW since the add-on OQUEUE has become popular. Many raids are now available inter-realms meaning I can play with all players in Europe. The possibility to play with many players has made it more interesting! I am no longer compiled to play with a small group of french people. I organized many raids last week. I almost lost 1 kg since I ate less and spent more time playing.

Sylvain and Sony (the mixed couple) invited me for a dinner on Sunday night. It was Sylvain’s 28 birthday and they wanted to try some of my Xbox games, especially the Kinect. I brought over some mussels with french fries as appetizers and a roasted piece of wild boar. Since they just live above me, I prepared everything and brought over the saucepans containing the preparation.
At least, I made the effort to socialize. We have different tastes for games so the Xbox did not win their approval and the Kinect itself is a bit glitchy when you have many people moving around in a small space. I enjoyed the dinner part where we could talk a bit. His brother came around 22: 00 and I took that opportunity to leave.

Here it comes! My first down payment, 704 Euros, has arrived and it surprised me a bit. It was 50 Euros more than expected because I started a month and half earlier. Anyways, I immediately asked the bank and received an explanation quickly. I will have to pay at the same time my rent and the mortgage for 3 months: October, November and December 2013. January and February will be paid for by the company that built my studio as late payment fees.

Bates Motel, S01EP01, was a bit creepy. In 30 min, you got a rape and a murder. I read the plot on the internet and it confirmed my feelings. I do not like these drama. I enjoy funny or sad movies with happy endings. I stopped watching “The Conjuring” even though it had really good rating.
A friend from school, Aurore, asked me how to download American TV shows on the internet and I did help her however I have the feeling it was useless. I am so used to Internet that sometimes I wonder how people can live without it. For many people, a computer screen is just a machine, to me, it is the window to many possibilities including social gaming and social activities. I am not talking about Facebook, which I do not use because I belong to the blog generation. I do not like Facebook because I am not in control of the web interface (for example ads).
Sylvain (the mixed couple dude) in the building asked me to print color photos of some leaks in his apartment and in exchange I had to eat some oysters. Good deal! In this building, they tend to feed me with food in exchange for help. I got ice cream from the blonde and Arabic sweets from my neighbor next door.

No shopping this week! Not for food at least! I am trying to finish all yogurts and other things. I waste a lot of food and I am trying to change my behavior. It is a bit hard for a single person to resist buying cheap food on sale.
Another 4 days weekend is coming! yea Yea yea!

“Red 2” was quite entertaining and funny.
“Man of Steel“: Another good adaptation. Not to miss!
“Star trek: into darkness“: Not to miss!
“Oblivion“: It kept me interested until the end. Good action and good acting. The story was a bit simplistic and there was a good twist (sad though).
“Turbo“: Good animation.
“The Croods“: Good one, I’d recommend.
“The hobbit: an unexpected journey“: A classic and a good one!
“Looper“: Good acting and nice plot but the logic is a bit stretched.
“Now is good“: A bit sad but not too bad. I tend to avoid these but I was in the mood.

Happy Happy! 4 days long weekend!
The brunette stopped by on Monday night late to inquire about the gas leak. She usually made her recommendations about my decoration because my studio felt empty like a hotel with no curtains. I got a bit annoyed because I dislike people saying you “should do this or that”. I told her that everyone thinks she is a “cheap bitch” (“pétasse” in french) with her cheap pink dresses and her noisy attitude. I just hope that now that she knows what people think about her, she won’t tell me how to decorate my place according to her “cheap bitch” taste :).
The only real reason why I never decorated this place was because I thought I’d be kicked out or forced to move out because I kept on delaying 2 months rent.

Yesterday, there was a gas leak near our building block so they shut down the gas flow for the whole street for security reason. Of course, all people in the building stopped by and asked me about the reason. There was also a short-circuit so there was no electricity in the morning but I was not there. They all assumed I’d know since I was usually extremely quick at looking for answers.
The “funny but not-for-too long” part was that I had to boil water to take a shower. Everyone also proposed their own solution to this problem. Mostly they will just not take a shower. I had a huge plastic box I used at the beginning of the year when this problem occurred. Indeed, I used the plastic box to keep hot water I boiled and mixed it with cold water to reach the right temperature. Gas is cheap but it seems less stable than electricity and this gas leak occurred twice already.

sOlVing pRoBlems!

There were little annoying things I never tried to fix or to look for a fix. I was in the mood to do so last week.
Problem 1: The Iphone rotation lock
I was really annoyed by this problem because I cannot read books while moving on my bed. The screen just kept on moving and being displayed horizontally. The problem was easy to fix.
Problem 2: The language switch with : Shift + Alt combination.
That was annoying while playing WoW because it is the same shortcut I use to dispell magic. Anyways I also found the way to turn off this setting
Control panel ==> Region & Languages==> Keyboard & languages ==> Change keyboard ==> Advanced key setting==>Change key sequence ==>then click on the bottom as you want it to be your shortcut

lOnG wEekEnd!

Another 4 days of work and 3 days off, I am loving these short weeks. I was a bit busy with work last week. Lots of rain also last week! My desire to get the Iphone 5S wore off after a week and now I see the tablet Ipad 5 and I want to have that too :). It was good to hold on a bit so that my finance recovers from the last huge spending.
The owner from the flat above spent lots of time cleaning and he kept on complaining to every one about his situation. We had of course another tense exchange.
