I went to check my new studio last Friday. I am happy about it. It seems bigger than my current studio because of the positions of the bathroom/toilet which are on the same area and the rest is like  a rectangular room. So it looks spacious!

This blood test shows if the virus (Hepatitis B) is doing any un-controled damages to my liver:

Here are the results:

Transaminases ASAT (GOT): 22 UL/L (normal 5-34)

Transaminases ALAT (GPT): 29 UL/L (normal 2-55)

The result is pretty much normal this year.

Hard to watch but worth it: Excellent movie.

Dallas Buyers Club

I’m still looking for a meaning to my own life at the age of 37, maybe I need a reason to fight for it like the guy in the movie.

I am emerging slowly from my huge investment in 2013. I had to carefully budget everything. I should have about 2k in cash now. Even though I kept on paying about 1450 Euros per month for rent and mortgage. The rent will be reimbursed in the final payment for the studio as late fee.

Becoming an owner creates direct “auto” savings. I no longer need to save 1000 Euros aside. Part of it goes directly to my mortgage and is saving money. If I am lucky and the price of my studio increases in the future, I would make more interest from my investment. I shall see some return in 5 or 10 years. I no longer pay rent and I am very happy about it.

Three days after, another apartment got robbed. This time it was on the 3rd floor and they destroyed the door. The robbers stole also more stuff I heard. Nobody could believe what happened, especially 2 days after. Everyone is on high alert and we all talked about it a lot. We had policemen coming over 2 times.
I also met the new couple who moved in. They were on the same floor. It is again a mixed couple (black/white). They seem nice but i won’t stay long enough to know them.

Thieves broke into 3 apartments today between 15:30 and 18:00, I went to my parents’ during that time. Luckily, my place was not among these. Nothing expensive or important was stolen besides jewelries and perfumes. These thieves did not care about electronics/TV or more expensive stuffs. People immediately thought about the Romanian camps around the city. 3 months ago, some people broke into 3 cars in my street and stole nothing also. Sylvain (the mixte couple) and the new young couple were the victims in this building B (2nd floor) and they might have to pay around 110 euros for a new door lock.

Last year at the exact same date, I moved into this studio under dramatic conditions and I got into all kind of stupid troubles. I always hated it maybe it is time to be in peace with this place I never wanted. Here are few photos. It was also a good reason to use my fancy camera again.

Today, I talked to the dude who is splitting with his 6-years GF (the mixte couple). They bought the apartment in this building together and had a 25-years mortgage. The bank is asking him 42k to buy her share of the deal and to keep things as they were. He told me that he had a car accident few months ago and he regretted the 10k spent on the new car. He could have used that money. He probably had no idea he would split that quickly.

I liked both of them and I really felt sorry for them. I did not ask about the reasons behind the break-up. Now is headache time for both of them.

Finally, he is dead! This is the first time I finished the damn game within an expansion time. I killed Garrosh in flex mode as a Raid Leader, meaning, I was the one leading 18 people into the final fight and we won. I am quite proud of myself since I’ve spent at least a whole week on this final fight.

My sister officially announced that she is expecting a baby boy for July 2014 and one of my cousins, Anne, got engaged. We already knew about these announcements so it was more or less a confirmation. I was happy for both of them even though I already knew about these events therefore it was hard for me to fake emotions :(. The baby will definitely mark a new chapter in my sister’s life and it will also affect us all. At least, my parents have something to wait for.

I am sure that my sister will criticize my cynical view however I would like to warn all my cousins about some statistics in Belgium: La Belgique, championne d’Europe des divorces! “3 mariages belges sur 4 se soldent sur un échec”. The fact that their parents’ marriage lasted for a long time might help them all avoiding the same fate. In France, it is not that much better: 44,7 %.

Do I want the same lifestyle?  The answer is NO. The reason is that I would not be able to make compromises for things to work in a couple. The marriage seems to be the ideal model proposed by our society at least financially.

My sister always said that it sounds like I am waiting for one of them to screw up and then I would have my “I said so” moment. It just seems so evident and logical to me that it is not my lifestyle as it seems evident and logical to my sister and my cousins to get married. Have they checked the statistics recently at least to see what was really logical?

A last chilling note:
“L’âge moyen au divorce est de 40 ans pour les hommes, et 37 pour les femmes.”
