As time passed by, I do admit I have developed an aggressive  behavior. I am just tired of the lies. I do not know how I can explain my preference for this path.

Few examples of emails I sent:

Bonsoir,
Cordialement
Pierre

The two little boys came back for another computer problem. Their PC was locked in an infinite loop due to a conflict. It took me 2 hours to solve this tricky problem. Their mother came and apologized for them. They were very happy that I could fix their laptop.

I do not know if I wanna solve everyone’s PC bugs in the street. Hopefully, there is no contagion. While fixing their stuff, I was standing quietly at my window with the two little boys and people in my building were quite surprised: 2 Arabic boys and an Asian dude. They all know that I do not talk much with people and I rarely have guests in my studio.

The little boy had a speech problem. His problem did not prevent him from being talkative. He was the most eager one to come in and to have his PC fixed. I listened patiently to his broken flow of speech, sometimes asking him to repeat so that I can understand.

Retrospectively, I found many of the events I experienced so .. normal. Breaking boundaries and going further gave me more insight into the way things work. The reality is, everything is so simple and so normal. It is our own expectations that made them extraordinary.

Yesterday, two little boys (7-9 years old) knocked at my door, they came in and asked me to repair their Wifi. They live in the next building. They told me that they saw my screens that is why they came. It seems that these screens are my real signature. I spent 25 minutes to fix the Wifi, it was stuck in the inactive secure mode. I also showed them how to connect to the internet using the Ethernet cable.

It’s cool to be young. All they wanted was this Wifi to be fixed and they knew where to ask for help instinctively. I saw the picture of the kids and their single mom on the laptop.

I went to the hospital to get my last blood tests results. There was a problem with the machine that delivers tickets. Everyone was annoyed until someone came and fixed it. But the machine failed again after the guy left. Everyone was horrified and tried to look for that dude.

I walked straight to the machine, I opened it and I tried to understand its mechanism. I had to struggle with it for 5 min. In the end, I understood the way it worked and I fixed it once and for all. Everyone was impressed. They waited for me to get my ticket first and happily get their tickets with a huge smile on their face. I was standing next to the machine to make sure that it would not fail again.

One old woman had her number called and instead of looking for the location, she went straight to me and asked where it was. I told her that it was just behind her. Everyone in the room had a gentle laugh because that old woman came straight to me for an answer as if I was the man in charge and I helped her right away.

I posted few weeks ago this video, it is really useful in my every day life:

How to spot a liar!

I applied all the examples in the video to my life… Geez it is so true.

I started to remember all the “visible” signs:

1. the eyes: avoiding direct eye contact during the lie

2. the denial signs: “there is no secret”, “what I am telling you is true”

3. The nervous laughs at inappropriate times

4. The condescending smirk: run away when you see that one, it’s the death sign in any normal conversation. I have spotted this one 2 times and I immediately left.
