I just renewed my advance directives regarding end-of-life (no pain, no aggressive therapy to maintain life, no reanimation, no invasive surgery, quick death – “fuck it all and let me die quickly and peacefully”). The advance directives and my organ donor card are in my bag. I would like also to be cremated. I really do not want any part of me buried somewhere, it seems creepy and simply expensive.

People make a big fuss about these issues that seem so straightforward to me.

The president of the jury made a funny joke based on her own experience. Some murder cases without premeditation sadly came from couples during cooking time and, precisely, at the ONION STEP. When the wife was cutting the onion and she had a drink or two, it was not uncommon for a wife to stab her husband with whatever came handy and it often lead to death!

The president insisted saying: BEWARE OF THE ONION! STAY AWAY FROM THE ONION!

The proportion of people who were divorced, separated, or married multiple times maxed out at age 59. Couples should be prepared financially, mentally and physically to the reality of dying alone!

My neighbor seems completely lost.

I helped my new neighbor who replaced “Coucous dude” in the apartment above me. While I was fixing her printer she told me about her horrible life with her ex-husband:

  1. They divorced after 20 years because he cheated on her with a younger woman
  2. He stole all their belongings in their old house
  3. She sued him over the 2 apartments they owned together
  4. He burned her car last week and she filed a complaint! (luckily she was at her mother’s house so nothing happened here!)
  5. She hides her address from him because she is afraid of him!

Now that she is old, alone, sick and she can no longer have any kids, she asked me this question in a very naive way: “Would you like to get married?”

I shrewdly answered after looking at her for few seconds: “So which part of your hell on Earth would you like to recommend to me?”

She burst out into a warm laugh…and said “NONE”

I was reading about the group Imagine Dragons. Lead singer Dan Reynolds has stated that the song is about his relationship with his parents and explained that while “at times it’s been strained and difficult… in the end, ‘I Bet My Life’ celebrates the bond that we still hold on to.”

I bet my life by Imagine Dragons

Lyric: LINK

I know I took the path that you would never want for me
I know I let you down, didn’t I
So many sleepless nights where you were waiting up on me
But I’m just a slave unto the night
Now remember when I told you that’s the last you’ll see of me

After 3 days of trial, the jury voted on the final decisions which were organised into series of questions:

1. Is he guilty? (Yes or No)
2. How long should he serve in prison? (choice: 1-20 years)
3. Should he be expelled from France territory indefinitely? (Yes or No)

The prosecutor requested only 10 years however the jury decided on 11 years. Never ever trust a group of jury! I had the impression that the jury added an extra year to punish the defender for his denial. Would he plead guilty, they would be more compassionate!

I was the most compassionate jury for this specific case… strangely! I only voted for 5 years meaning that he would be free since he has already served 2 and half years in prison.

The jury did not like the aggressive behavior from the lawyer and the extra year was certainly added to punish the lawyer!
