I was accepted by Manchester University, I got the answer today. I will then follow a 9 months course starting September 2008 to become an intellectual property agent. After the course and the exams, I will have the fundamental exam that is the first step of a 3 to 5 year process to become a patent attorney. With a bit of luck, I will work for a law company after these 9 months. I wanted to get the fundamental exam in the UK because it will allow me to work in many countries: US, Canada, Australia, etc…
This is also the very first step in a long and painful life change process. I am happy now that I know what I will be doing the next 12 months.
It does make sense to take this path since I already have a Phd in science.
